1. Prepare your salmon

3. Fry your salmon

Carefully place your fillets on the cast iron skillet under medium heat, ensuring that you don’t accidentally splash oil over your face or hands. Also, if the salmon is curling, use a fish spatula to flatten it by pressing the fillet down evenly on your frying pan. Consider using a timer as you let each side of your salmon cook for 4 minutes without tampering with it. During the last minute, start flipping your salmon and allow some oil to run underneath it so that it becomes crispier. After overturning, fry it for another 4 minutes or less and add two more minutes if the fillet is super thick.

4. Remove the cast iron from the source of heat

After the salmon is ready, turn off the source of heat to avoid overcooking it. Also, you can opt to press the fish against the surface of the skillet to sear it. Remove the pan, place it somewhere else, and leave it to cool for 2-3 minutes. Now serve the salmon on the plate with side dishes of your choice.
